a giant leech

A giant leech slinks through the swampy detritus.

Rising from the slimy wet ground, its segmented body bent so as to stand on its lower portions, a horrid giant leach examines its prey.  The creature is over four feet long with a skinny tapered tail, a large bloated mid-section and a horrifying head.  The head is a giant mouth with a double row of sharp white teeth circling the entire opening.  Two pairs of eyes, a large pair and a small, wave in the wind on four eyestalks.  The slimy mottled brown and tan skin also has a few spots of gray discoloration possibly from an injury or disease.
