a guardian swarm

A well armored swarm of faeries hovers here.

A massive swarm of heavily armored faeries hovers here anxiously.  Long stringy goblin hair sticks out beneath pot helmets.  Pointed spears on rough wooden shafts are held in elongated rough skinned fingers.  Clawed talons grip rocks and axes, hold wooden shields, and clasp menacingly at invisible foes. The incessant wingbeats stir the leaves in the trees about and create a dull droning noise.  Teeth grate, eyes glare, muscles twitch, as if at any moment the swarm will attack.  From within the swarm an order is given and the bodies shift position, spears to the top, shields to the bottom, axes at the sides and everywhere the rough flesh of a faerie swarm.
