A calf, encased in a wooden crate, dangles inches from the ground.

This baby bovine is in a strange predicament indeed.  Its body is trapped in a wooden crate that has been suspended by cables to nearby tree branches. Its head sticks out one end; its feet dangle inches above the floor, its tail swishes lazily from the uncapped backside of the box.  The box is labeled with a single word, 'veal'.  How cruel!  Who could eat such an indecently raised animal with a clear conscience?
