a hellhound

A hellhound snarls and bristles its smoldering fur.

The hellhound is a nightmarish wolf-like beast, with a furry undercoat of flame-red showing through dirty strands of longer brown hair.  Its huge shoulder blades create a hump in the upper back for anchoring of powerful leg muscles.  Its eyes flicker bright red as smouldering steam rises from every inch of it.
