An armored griffon flaps its wings here.

The front half of the griffon's powerful body is that of a great eagle, with a 25 foot wing span and sharp talons.  The back half looks more like a lion, with back legs suitable for pouncing and raking.  Its entire body is shielded in fine mail barding.
