A giant spider quietly patrols the caverns, looking for intruders.

The quaggoth are excellent trainers and keepers of numerous species of spiders, especially the giant varieties favored by the Drow.  Quaggoth handlers often maintain a very symbiotic relationship with their spider thralls, relying on them for hunting prey as well as guard duties.  The spiders are fiercly loyal to their quaggoth handlers and will help defend the tribe to the death.
