a huge black rat

A huge black rat is scurrying to a better hiding place.

These large rodents get fat from eating the food scraps and carcasses of other creatures.  They have long ten inch tails and pitch-black fur.  Rumor says that their bites sometimes contain a caustic chemical that poisons the blood.
