a sea heron

A great sea heron hunts in the shallows.

The sea herons are not actually seabirds, but freshwater birds choosing to hunt in the salty tidepools and shorelines of marshes and oceans, rather than streams or common lakes.  This one has the size and wingspan of the Great Blue Heron, but without the black edging on the wings.
