A large smoky black dragon is curled up in his nest, watching with one open eye.

An ancient black dragon is at home in his cairn in the garden.  It looks like he has lived here for a very long time.  The only features one can make out on his body are very thin milky white lines radiating up from his belly, exposed because he is curled up in the nest.  They look like old stitch scars, as if someone had healed him from some dreadful wound.  It would have taken someone with great magical powers, and nerve, to heal such powerful dragon.
