A good size hickory tree is standing here, looking a little worse for wear.
The hickory tree looks like it's been battered black and blue. It is missing many of its smaller limbs and all of its twigs are scattered around on the ground. Very few of its hickory nuts remain up in its crown. Most of its leaves are torn and shredded, where ice had formed and then was battered away by flying ice pellets. It is a very sad looking tree indeed.
