An old delicate plum tree is standing here.

The short plum tree is very thin and dainty looking as she holds up her small limbs up around her.  Most of her little twigs have broken off, and very few plums remain in her crown.  Her leaves are made of sterner stuff however, and most of them are still intact.  Their strong wax surfaces repelled the ice pellets and were not frozen in the attack.  As her plums were heavy with ripeness, they did not roll far and so most remain at her feet to be gathered by those who wish to.
