What it does
Sword measures how well a character handles a one-handed cutting
weapon, from a plain blade up to anything else that wounds by
slashing rather than crushing or piercing. The proficiency is
weighed into every swing made with such a weapon, and until it is
reasonably well trained it drags your accuracy down instead of
lifting it. It improves through use, on hits and misses alike. A
blade that needs both hands is governed by the separate two handed
sword skill.
