shocking grasp
Spell · aimed at an enemy · first available at level 16
What it does
Syntax: cast 'Shocking Grasp' <target>
The caster takes hold of his target and drives a burst of
electricity through it. It is one of the earlier attack spells,
dependable rather than devastating, and a magic-user draws a
noticeably bigger jolt out of it than any other class manages. A
successful saving throw halves the damage, and a creature that
resists lightning shrugs off most of what is left.
