the historian's notebook

A small notebook has been discarded on the ground.

look historian's

The book appears to be rather new and is mostly filled with blank pages.

The front cover reads:
   The Analyzes of Morwen Manor

The pages read:
I am attempting to recover much of the history and knowledge that was lost
when the Morwen family was eliminated. Having looked over the house I've
found that thieves have definitely found the manor before my expedition was
approved. Damn politics and bureaucracy! The Lords have provided a small
contingent of hunters to keep thieves at bay now; however, there have been a
few manage to evade Charrin's men for longer than makes me comfortable.
Nonetheless, they are good men, if only they would stop babbling about ghosts
and spirits. I have seen some strange things in my stay here, but I believe
that there is a rational explanation to them all. Shean is usually here as
well. He's been interested in this proposal since the beginning. It's hard
sometimes to know if he has some selfish wizardly intent or if this is just
another genuine interest in the pursuit of knowledge. He's spends most of his
time in the basement library trying to glean some useful bits of information
from the burnt books. I have no idea why the books where burnt. There was no
other real damage done when the assassins murdered the family. It doesn't
make much sense to me. We still don't know who hired the guild to take the
Morwens out of the picture. I am hoping to put together a dossier on each of
the last six family members. There were some things that were quickly
obvious, such as the son's adoration of his father. He seemed to idolize the
man, as is common in a young boy. I've seen evidence that he even went on
patrols and carried a mock sword that was made to look like the precious
family heirloom carried by Dureaus. The mother was obviously obsessed with
her children, again not unusual, and I've found that she spent a lot of time
lingering in the nursery even after both the children grew up. The
grandmother was sick. The grandfather was a student of lore and spent much
time buried in the books of the library. I suspect Shean will gain the most
information on him, as they seem to have quite a bit in common. The daughter
seems to be a bit of a mystery. Besides these few things that I've gathered
at first pass through the manor, there is very little I've found about the
family that wasn't a matter of public record prior to their demise.
