This is an exceptionally crafted weapon for such a primitive species such as the Quaggoth.  The handle of the axe is constructed from a solid piece of wood, a very rare item in the UnderDark, while the head of the axe has been carved from a large piece of quartz.  The blade of the axe has been ground to a razor sharp edge.
